Guessing (wrong) about what will grow your business is over. I've got the blueprint so you don't have to make the same mistakes I did.
It took me 5 years to hit my stride with my own small product business. I wasted so much time taking courses, reading blogs, listening to podcasts, and trying the next hack. I did all the pop-up markets, made all the Reels, and launched new products.
I used to be a one-woman show, down to production and fulfillment. I was running on ✨ vibes ✨ and all that made for inconsistent, okay-ish sales that depended entirely on my work hours.
Then I found out I was pregnant with twins, and I knew that I would never be able to run my business the same.
Hi, I'm Gabi, and I know what it takes to build, optimize, and scale a life-first, profitable product business, because I've done it myself.
I left corporate health administration because the stress of hating my job caused my chronic health conditions to explode. I hard pivoted to entrepreneurship and started my own brand - Bright Body - in 2017.
I wanted to use "cleaner" products for the sake of my health but couldn't find a brand that met my standards. While out on FMLA, I started learning about cosmetic formulation and the rest is history.
No matter your brand origin story, I'm pretty sure of two things:
1. You have a true passion for what you do. It takes real love and passion for your products to decide to make it into a business.
2. You love the flexibility of entrepreneurship, despite its undeniable challenges. I bet that you really enjoy having the freedom and autonomy to chart your own course.
While passion and being your own boss can start a product business, it's NOT enough to make it profitable and keep it running.
I had decent success with Bright Body in its first 5 years. But everything was on my shoulders.
And the moment I saw two little beans on an ultrasound screen after 2+ years of infertility and recurrent loss, a red-hot fire lit under my ass.
The plan all along was to be a stay-at-home entrepreneur mom. But how in the world could I keep my momentum + grow the brand with TWINS?!
I started by hiring help for production and fulfillment. And I made the call to intentionally coast the first year of motherhood, then hit the ground running in year two.
Right before my boys' 1st birthday, I invested in learning + implementing the strategy, systems, and support to take Bright Body to the next level.
And now it runs on low-maintenance mode. We grow at least 100% every year. I can reliably predict my sales and profits. Decision fatigue isn't a thing. I get to enjoy my family and take time off.
And when I stopped to appreciate how far I've come, I realized I felt called to help other people find the same success.
I'm so sick of seeing the "tips, tricks, and hacks" that keep people busy but not effective.
I hate hustle culture and chasing the idea of "going viral" and "overnight success."
And I fully reject the idea that you "need" investors.
Because with the right support, you can build an independent, life-first, profitable product business. It's not magic and it's not just for privileged ecomm bros.
